World Vegan Day is an annual event celebrated by vegans around the world every 1 November. The benefits of veganism for humans, non-human animals, and the natural environment are celebrated through activities such as setting up stalls, hosting potlucks, and planting memorial trees. The event was established in 1994 by Louise Wallis, then Chair of The Vegan Society in the United Kingdom, to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the founding of the organisation and the coining of the terms “vegan” and “veganism”. Speaking in 2011, Louise Wallis said: “We knew the Society had been founded in November 1944 but didn’t know the exact date, so I decided to go for 1 November, partly because I liked the idea of this date coinciding with Samhain/Halloween and the Day of the Dead – traditional times for feasting and celebration, both apt and auspiciousContinue reading “World Vegan Day Events in London”
The San Francisco 49ers are 8-0 on the season and this latest 28-25 win over the Arizona Cardinals (3-5-1) may be the most impressive yet. Why? Because they didn’t have to rely on their top-ranked defense to squeak out the win. Instead, it was quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, who tossed for 317 yards and four touchdowns in the win. With him playing at this level coupled with their defense, San Francisco isn’t just looking like a perfect team, but a bonafide Super Bowl favorite.Continue reading “49ers wins over Cardinals”
What are grow bags?
Grow bags are pots which are designed with fabric for 3 main reasons.
1. Healthy roots 2. Temperature control 3. Avoids over watering
Healthy roots: These pots are made up of fabric having many small invisible holes. These holes help air flow reach to the roots of a plant. When root senses air, it stops growing and encircling the pot which makes root healthier. The roots become “air pruned” which is vital to growing healthy plants in containers. In traditional plastic pot, When the roots reach the edge of a plastic pot they continue growing in search more water and nutrients only to begin encircling the pot. This begins the process of structural damage to your plants. The roots become constricted leading to less water and nutrient intake.Continue reading “Grow Bags – Need of future”
How can I make my roses grow faster?
My mother just loves gardening. She has not only grown flower plants but even big trees like Jambul tree, mangoes etc. Few years back, we decided to plant rose plants. We bought few plants from market and planted in a pot.
We live in place where temperature goes to 46°c in summer. It hardly rains in rainy season (monsoon). Though we watered the plant everyday and soil quality was good for planting, many plants could not survive. The one which survived did not grow a single rose on it. Yeah, that was literally frustrating.
